Using the Virtual Lab: Saving from a Vlab App

Getting Started

The Vlab app default "Save" settings will save your file to a remote server that you will not be able to access again. Follow these directions to save to the computer you're working on.

Saving Your Files

To save your file to your personal computer, click "Save As."

Finding Your Computer

The default "Save" settings will save your file to a remote server that you will not be able to access again. To save to the computer you're working on, click "Computer" and the "C" drive under "Other."

**Hint: on a Mac, you may need to look on the left for "TSClient" and then the name of the computer you're on.

The Users Folder

Once you're in the C drive on your computer, select the "Users" folder.

Your Username

In the "Users" folder, select your username. If you are on a library computer, the username will be something like "labuser8."

Save to Your Hard-Drive

You should now see the locations available on your computer. Select someplace easy to remember to save your file, such as the Desktop or Documents folder. Remember to also name your file something you'll easily remember.
