Codebooks
One extremely important but overlooked part of using and collecting data for statistical analysis is the codebook. The codebook is where the data that's being collected is described in detail sufficient for anyone to use the same data. Codebooks are always supplied with data, which are meaningless without it. Each variable that is measured is given by name, position, described with a phrase, and values listed that are used.
