Introducing Blackboard Ally

Blackboard Corporate Logo with Ally addendum

Blackboard Ally is a software tool for enhancing the accessibility of course materials. Ally will become available within Loyola's Learning Management System during the 2019 calendar year.

Ally examines scanned documents, slide presentations, word processing documents, and other materials within a course. It uses expert knowledge and machine learning to spot characteristics that might make materials more difficult to use for students with vision or hearing challenges. Ally scores the accessibility of materials, recommends improvements, and in some cases converts materials to file formats that are more compatible with assistive technologies.
