See below for all of the ways that you can request either materials (books, scores,DVDs, CDs, songs/arias, articles from print journals) or equipment from the Monroe Library. Our front desk is closed for checkouts and we will have closed stacks, but you can use this information to get everything you need. Don't see what you're looking for? Email librarylc@loyno.edu.
The library is offering a contactless process for reserving, checking out, and picking up physical library materials:
Here’s how it works if you are in New Orleans/on campus:
If you are taking classes online and are not in New Orleans, please use ILLiad to request that materials in our collection be mailed to you. If you use the hold process, we will assume that you can physically pick up materials.
Need help finding library materials in the catalog? Contact your librarian liaison for an appointment or email librarylc@loyno.edu and we’ll refer you to someone who can assist you.
If you are a graduate of Loyola University New Orleans and wish to borrow physical materials from the Monroe Library, please contact Evonne Lawrence at ekelly@loyno.edu to ensure first that your contact information is up to date. We will attempt to arrange contactless pickup for alumni (who will not be able to physically come in to the library) but we need to be able to reach you by email and phone.
To request a laptop, iPad, or wifi hotspot for the semester, please use the BIT report. It's a little awkward to use as a request for yourself, but it is how we're tracking student needs. Once your report has been received, Dr. Ward will forward your request to the person in the library who handles distribution of this equipment.
If you are a student and you need a calculator or a Mac laptop charger, click on the appropriate link to place a hold. You will need your library PIN, just as you would to place holds for books.

If you are faculty, or a student who needs more specialized equipment than is listed above, use this form to request from Media Services.
To request a reading from a book on physical reserve in the Monroe Library, use ILLiad. There is a form there to request a reserve reading. You will need to know your professor's name and the title of the book and the pages that you must read. If you've never used ILLiad, use the First Time Users link to set up your account. We suggest using your sso credentials to avoid any duplication of accounts or forgotten information.
To request an article that is only available in print in the Monroe Library (or on the flashdrive on reserve), use ILLiad and fill out the Article Request form. In this case, there is no difference between requesting something that we have vs something that we need to request from another library. If you've never used ILLiad, use the First Time Users link to set up your account. We suggest using your sso credentials to avoid any duplication of accounts or forgotten information.
If you only need a song or aria from an anthology in the library's collection, please use ILLiad to request it and we will provide it in pdf format. Be sure to put the library's call number (if you know it) in the request and be sure to note that you are requesting it from our collection. You should also give us any information about layout, key (or even high, medium, or low) and anything we should know about the specifics of what you need (a duet version, the recitative, etc.) If you've never used ILLiad, use the First Time Users link to set up your account. We suggest using your sso credentials to avoid any duplication of accounts or forgotten information.
If you need help with finding a song or aria in the catalog, please contact Laurie Phillips at phillips@loyno.edu or 504-864-7833.
To request an article or book or score from another library, use ILLiad. If you've never used interlibrary loan, use the First Time Users link to set up your ILLiad account first. Requested articles will be delivered electronically to your ILLiad account. Physical materials (books or scores) will be available for contactless pickup once we have received them from another library.
