About the New York Times academic pass:

  • Access to unlimited news online or via the mobile app.
  • Available to loyno students, faculty and staff.
  • Access on or off campus.

How to activate your pass?

  • Go to accessnyt.com.
  • In the "Find Your School" field, type Loyola University New Orleans.
  • Enter your loyno email address.
  • Create a password.
  • Important: Access your activation link in your email to activate your account. 
  • Go to nytimes.com.

How long do you have access?

  • For students: valid until December 31st of the graduation year you choose. 
  • For faculty and staff: valid for 4 years, then renew. To renew, follow the activation steps above.

Client Support: New & Existing NYT accounts:

  • NEW subscribers to NYT can visit accessnyt.com to create an account (register). They type in the school name and follow instructions based on their location. If the new subscriber encounters an error message, please email edu@nytimes.com.

  • EXISTING registered subscribers with ACTIVE PAID subscriptions need to cancel their personal subscription by connecting with a chat agent on the site, or by calling 800-698-4637 before creating an account. Once the subscription is canceled, you can visit accessnyt.com, type in the school name, and follow the instructions based on your location. If you already have an account, click “Log In" (Found below "Create an Account"). Input your email address and the same Password created for your previous account. If you encounter an error message, you can email with edu@nytimes.com.

  • EXISTING registered subscribers that DO NOT HAVE ACTIVE NYT subscription can visit accessnyt.com, type in the name of the school, and follow the instructions based on their location. Since the subscriber already has an account, click “Log In" (Found below "Create an Account"). Input your email address and the same Password created for your previous account. If you encounter an error message, please email edu@nytimes.com. 

Other Important Notes:

  • This subscription does not include NYT Games, The Athletic, or NYT Cooking. 
  • Times Machine: for the date ranges 1923-1980, users are limited to 5 accesses per day.

New York Times Online

Loyno students, faculty and staff have free access to the New York Times Online. To get the academic pass, follow the steps on the left side panel. 

Here's what's included with your subscription:

-          Unlimited Access to two great learning tools: The New York Times in Education website and The Learning Network. ( nytimesineducation.com and nytimes.com/learning ).  

Mobile apps

The New York Times has News apps for iOS and Android.

Download the News apps at the New York Times Mobile apps site. After installing the app, log in with your loyno email address and the password you created when you first activated your NYT account.
